Trojan horses in PH

For PH coalition to collapse, it needed no enemies from outside.

From the beginning, there were already the presence of Trojan Horses, the question was: when will they strike and what will be the consequences.

PH government could not last even two years, the strains and conflicts were emerging.

It was the unity of forces within PH to deny an opportunity for Anwar Ibrahim to become the next prime minister seems to have brought Azmin Ali and Mahathir Mohammed and Muhyiddin closer.

It was crystal clear that Mahathir did not want to Anwar to succeed him, his shifting positions on this matter was indicative of his disinterest in Anwar.

The actual ground work for the master plan just not to oppose Anwar but undermine the PH coalition was undertaken by Azmin perhaps with the blessing of Mahathir.

The idea to form a Malay only government by roping in Umno and PAS, the notion of a Pakatan Nasional coalition, to keep out Anwar’s faction and DAP from this coalition and others were efforts by Azmin with some Umno leaders to give effect to their nefarious plan to kill off PH.

He might not have known the details, but the idea to keep out Anwar from becoming the prime minister was something that he might have endorsed, if not why did he constantly prevaricate on the matter.

He might have opposed cooperation with Umno, but he was certainly not averse in embracing individual Umno members.

His resignation as the prime minister was characteristic egotistical response to the proposal to bring in Umno in a new coalition, yet he was willing to become an interim prime minister and even prime minister after that, heading the dysfunctional unity government.

It might not have been a fully intact plan to oust the PH coalition or government, but the plan was there, could have been endorsed by Mahathir.

Muhyiddin might have been convinced, although the unintended consequences were beyond the control of the perpetrators.

The collapse of PH coalition could have have been an eye-opener to those in PKR, DAP and Amanah that about the devious role of Mahathir, Azmin and Muhyiddin.

Whether PH can obtain the parliamentary majority to govern the country remains to be seen given the strong challenge from those who have cast their lot with Muhyiddin.

Political and ideological lines are clearly drawn now than ever before, so the battle has to be fought and won.

It takes courage and principle to fight the battle to win or loose rather than not to fight at all.[1]
