Tok Mat has more chance than Streram – Azmin

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan is seen to have a brighter chance to contest in the Regional Legislative Assembly (DUN) by-election against Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Dr S Streram.
PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, who described PH to be challenging to hijack the seat of the Legislative Assembly from Barisan Nasional (BN). However, he said, PH might be able to compete with the right machinery and strategy.
“We admit that our journey to the Region may be a big challenge if UMNO puts Mohamad a candidate. “Of course he has the advantage (compared to Streram) as Mohamad is the former Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar and also as the people’s representative in the area. “But I believe in the combination of PH energy, powerful machinery and putting the right strategy, we can give a strong rivalry in the Region,” he told reporters at the Parliament lobby today.
He said this when asked to comment on Streram’s ability to win the Regional Legislative Assembly seat if the BN had placed Mohamad as a candidate.
Asked on the PH strategy to oppose the racial and religious sentiments that the BN might use in the CRK, Mohamed Azmin said they would rely on the government’s ongoing and ongoing initiatives and policies.
“UMNO will continue to play racial issues and that is indeed their survival, but PH is always in the spirit that we want all Malaysians to enjoy the development and prosperity of the nation. “We will explain some of our initiatives and hope the people receive government views and policies,” he said.
