TAIPING: The Magistrate Court has ordered for the teenage couple who allegedly murdered a Form Four student in Kamunting to be remanded for six days.
The remand order on the 14-year old girl and her 15-year old lover will expire on Saturday.
On Friday, the police detained the duo over the murder of the student, whose body was found by the public behind an empty house, next to his house at Glenview Park.
Taiping district police chief ACP Osman Mamat said the couple was believed to have used a plastic to cover the victim’s head, before slitting his neck and both wrists with a knife and throwing his body behind the empty house after a scuffle over the boyfriend’s handphone.
The lovers confessed to the crime after being questioned by the police.
The victim’s family has claimed the body from the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh after a post-mortem on Sunday night.
Reacting to the incident yesterday, Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Hannah Yeoh stressed the need for parents’ role in bringing up their children.
She also urged the authorities to subject the perpetrators to rehabilitation process as they were still young.
