PUCHONG: PAS said that both PKR and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) were afraid of their own shadows, amid speculation that the Islamist party may join the Pakatan Harapan coalition.
“PKR secretary general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail’s statement saying that Pakatan does not need PAS shows that they are worried and afraid.
“It also shows that Pakatan component parties are unstable and in crisis with one another,” he said, in a statement.

Two days ago, Saifuddin dismissed speculation that there were talks to get PAS to join Pakatan.
The PKR leader said that Pakatan does not need PAS, as the ruling coalition was strong enough on its own.
Chiding Saifuddin, Takiyuddin said that PAS has no intention of joining Pakatan. Instead, the party was keen on strengthening its cooperation with Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN), through the Muafakat Nasional.
“We will continue to be with Umno/BN as a constructive Opposition, in and out of Parliament, and play a role as check and balance to the Pakatan government,” he said.
