KUALA LUMPUR: Garmin has launched its latest wearable in Malaysia — the Garmin Venu — with a price tag of RM1,799.
Garmin’s authorised local distributor Aeco Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd marketing executive Dickson Cheah said the device is a smartwatch equipped with the global positioning system (GPS) and a fitness tracker that would not compromise the wearer’s fashion considering its interchangeable bands.
“This product has the best of both worlds — sports and fashion. Previously, our strength lies in the sports side but we have started to step into the fashion and lifestyle sides these past few years.
“We want to target the youngsters, travellers and those who are active in sports,” he told reporters after the launch here today.
Cheah said with the Garmin Venu, its wearer would be able to track their sleep, heart rate, steps taken daily, stress levels and for females, it also offers menstrual cycle tracking via the Garmin Connect app.
On battery life, he said the Garmin Venu could last up to five days on smartwatch mode, while its GPS mode with music could last up to six hours.
