KUALA LUMPUR, May 29 — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today confirmed it is reviewing complaints linked to the evaluation process and upgrade works at the National Stadium Bukit Jalil.
It said it is examining related information and documents before deciding on further investigation, Berita Harian reported this afternoon.
“MACC always takes seriously any allegations involving corruption, abuse of power and misconduct affecting public interest and government procurement,” it was quoted as saying.
It also urged those with information on corruption or irregularities to channel it directly to the agency instead of disclosing it publicly.
It said this was to prevent leaks and avoid disrupting investigations.
Local news outlets had previously reported allegations by contractors over a RM24 million stadium upgrading project.
The complaints were said to centre on two tenders tied to preparations for the 2027 SEA Games, involving a new running track and a protective flooring system used during concerts and major events.
