Preacher’s office robbed, culprit says ‘forgive me’

KUALA LUMPUR: “Forgive me, I was desperate,” was the note left by the culprit who broke into the office of freelance preacher Ebit Lew in Bandar Baru Bangi here, resulting in losses of about RM50,000.

The popular preacher through his Facebook page shared that two laptops, a camera, mobile phones and cash were stolen in the incident.

“My office in was broken into. I was shocked to learn about it just before giving a talk at the Perlis Prison.

“I pray that the offender receives Allah’s guidance. This could be a blessing in disguise,” he said in a post on the social media included several photographs of the office.

Meanwhile, Kajang district police chief ACP Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof said a staff at the office lodged a report at 8.59am yesterday.

Initial investigations and through closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) footage it was found that the suspect got to the second-floor office by climbing the back portion of the building.
