PM extends condolences to Salahuddin’s family

KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has conveyed his deepest condolences to the family of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub who died at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital, tonight.

Anwar, who is also the Pakatan Harapan chairman, said Salahuddin’s passing was a huge loss for himself and his family.

In a statement that was posted on his Facebook account, Anwar said Salahuddin had always been with him throughout their political journey.

“I am deeply affected by Salahuddin’s passing, who was a very loyal friend. Personally, it (his passing) is a great loss for my family and I.

“Salahuddin has always been with me throughout the (political) journey until his last breath. His kindness and service certainly cannot be repaid materially.”

Anwar shared that Salahuddin was also known as an individual with a good personality, regardless of when dealing with friends or opponents.

“He was a very hardworking individual and took highly his responsibility and commitment towards his work.

“Rest well, my friend. May Allah SWT grants great patience to your family, forgive all your sins and may you be placed in the highest place by His side, God willing.”

Earlier, Salahuddin’s daughter Fatihah Salahuddin announced the sad news in a posting on her Facebook account.

Her posting read: “With sadness, it is hereby informed that our head of family has passed away at 9.23pm, 23 July 2023”.
