IPOH, Aug 8 — The school administration and the teacher who recently alleged that she was bullied and subjected to psychological pressure need to work together to resolve the matter in the interest of the pupils.
Perak Education, Higher Education, Youth and Sports Committee chairman Datuk Khairudin Abu Hanipah said both parties should adopt a conciliatory approach in resolving the matter instead of blaming each other.
“The matter has been brought to my attention, and we have asked the District Education Office and the Perak Education Department to investigate the allegations.
“The investigation has been completed and I have also received the full report, with the findings as stated in the Public Complaints Management System (SISPAA),” he told reporters after opening the Todak Academy (Perak) Digital Education Hub here today.
Yesterday, it was reported that a teacher at a school in Chemor had alleged that she was subjected to bullying, intimidation and emotional distress at the workplace between March and May.
Khairudin said he was not blaming either party, stressing that all actions should be taken in accordance with the processes and procedures set by the Ministry of Education.
“I am not blaming either party because both have their own arguments and evidence. The school administration is bound by certain circulars and procedures, while the teacher involved also needs to understand that every action must follow the prescribed process,” he said.
On the teacher’s claim that she had suffered seizures, he said the matter needed to be confirmed by the medical officer handling the case.
“The matter needs to be confirmed by a doctor. I understand that the teacher has sought treatment, so let us wait for the medical report and not make any assumptions,” he said.
Meanwhile, Perak Education director Zulkafli Mohamed Mokhtar said in a statement that the Perak Education Department (JPN) had taken note of the issue which went viral on social media.
He said department took all complaints seriously and remained committed to ensuring that every complaint was handled professionally and transparently, in accordance with the regulations and procedures in force, while safeguarding the welfare of teachers.
He also said that the Perak JPN, together with the District Education Office (PPD), had taken follow-up action since March 2026, including engagement sessions, reviews, monitoring and coordination with the relevant parties to ensure that every matter raised received due attention.
“Perak JPN will continue to prioritise the welfare and well-being of all parties involved, while ensuring that harmony in the school environment and the smooth operation of educational institutions are maintained.
“Perak JPN remains committed to handling every complaint fairly, with integrity and accountability, in the best interests of the education community,” he added.
