PUTRAJAYA, Sept 11 — Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s clemency application has been deferred to a future sitting of the Federal Territories Pardons Board, the Prime Minister’s Department said today.
In a statement, it confirmed the board held its 63rd meeting this morning for Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya.
“The Yang di-Pertuan Agong also consented for Datuk Seri Mohd Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak’s application for pardon to be postponed to a Pardons Board meeting that will be held in the future,” the department said.
Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim consented to the release of 65 prisoners during the Pardons Board meeting, with all non-citizens ordered to be deported to their countries of origin within six months.
