Over RM12,000 spent on each drug addict a year

KUALA LUMPUR: The government spent RM12,775 on treating each drug addict per year, Deputy Home Minister Datuk Mohd Azis Jamman told the Dewan Rakyat today.

He said the amount was estimated together with RM35 spent on rehabilitation cost per day for each addict.

“The Home Ministry through the National Anti-Drugs Agency spends roughly about RM1,050 per month on each drug addict or RM12,775 per year,” he said.
