PUCHONG: in a recent development, Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (pix) said his party will be requesting the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to unfreeze its accounts, which are currently under investigation.

Muhyiddin claims that Bersatu had received ill-gotten funds and has assured that the alleged received was from legitimate sources.

The former prime minister also pointed out that the freeze on Bersatu’s account is affecting party operations.

On Tuesday, MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed that Bersatu’s accounts had been frozen two weeks ago to facilitate investigations under the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing Act.
