BUENOS AIRES: The MotoGP Argentina race has been postponed by seven months as organisers continue to delay the start of the season because of the coronavirus, reported Xinhua news agency.

The event, which had been scheduled for April 17 to 19, will now take place from Nov 20 to 22.

MotoGP had already cancelled the first three races of the year – in Qatar, Thailand and the United States – in response to the outbreak.

The entity said in a statement that the first race of the season would now be at Spain’s Jerez circuit on May 3.

As a result of the changes, the last race of the championship in Valencia will now be held from November 27 to 29, it added.
