PUCHONG: Education Minister Maszlee Malik claimed that the Tamil movie, Raatchasi currently screened on Astro channel 241 depicted the changes that he aspires to bring about in the Malaysian education system.
“It feels very different to watch it as the Education Minister. I reflected every scene with the situation in our country.
“Many policies and changes that we are making to implement was successfully depicted in this movie,” said the minister via his Instagram account.
“Take the Free Breakfast Programme initiative as an example. This movie interpreted my aspiration beyond food as I want to see teachers eat together with our children.”
He also touched on the subject of children dropping out of school which was depicted in the movie starring Jyothika as Geetha Rani.
“Geetha successfully got the involvement of all the parties, including the police. This is what we are working on. We want to ensure enforcement is in place in all corners so that there would not be any children dropping out.”

He added that he aspired to make education a collective vision for all quarters.
“Geetha even met the parents of all the students and formed a Parents Community Association to ensure the parents participated actively in their children’s education.
“Making education a collective vision for all is among my biggest wishes because I am confident that education would be the objective of the local community. Education would raise their living standards”
The minister who has come under severe criticisms for some of his earlier initiatives such as the introduction of black shoes promised to write a review about Raatchasi.
The 120 minute movie depicted how Geetha brought about the educational reforms in a poorly performing school.
Prior to Maszlee, a teacher also gave raving reviews about the movie via Facebook.
