The Southeast Asian nation detected the outbreaks in seven villages in the province’s Tumlan district, which led to the death of at least 900 pigs.
To prevent the disease from spreading out, Lao authorities have taken drastic measures, such as establishing temporary animal quarantine stations to check the transportation of pigs and their products from infected areas. and spraying chemicals.
Locals have been advised to join hands in stamping out the disease.
African swine fever does not spread to humans or poultry though it can kill pigs quickly and there is no vaccine available.
