The song title in my last post ‘Misery’ refers not to my personal state of mind but rather that of the nation. We end this year out in complete misery.
The economy is stagnant. People are struggling more than ever to make ends meet. Ringgit is weak.
Stock market is stuck in reverse. National unity is at its lowest in many years. There is no light at the end of the tunnel. Instead of fixing this, all we see is infighting and intrigue about power and position.
Enough! Get back to work.
Launch a stimulus package targeting economic sectors with the multiplier effect. Create national skills boot camp to quickly train unemployable youths into gainful employment.
Commit to hard targets for reducing foreign workers. Reform agriculture policy and move away from commodities. Stop the property glut.
Create fair legislation on hate speech. Sack half the Cabinet. Come up with a clear succession timetable (if it’s full term, it’s full-term). If not, then when?) List is not exhaustive but you get the idea. We have had enough of amateur hour.
And to the two purported candidates for PM8: Stop behaving like two divas in heat. Malaysia’s problem is bigger than your ambition
