Jason Lo defends himself against sexual assault claims

PUCHONG: The former telecommunications company chief executive officer accused of molesting his own children came out in the open today, dismissing the accusations and launched a scathing attack on English daily, The Star.

In a long post on his Facebook page, Jason Lo accused The Star of being unjust and unfair for publishing a news report against him without verifying the facts.

“How can The Star be so unjust, uninformed and unfair to report such a thing which can influence or incite stupid actions.

“I make no claim to being perfect, but do you know that I am actually innocent of your violently scathing claims? I keep to myself but I will stand up against bullies and will protect my children from such recklessness no matter who the hell you think you are,” he said.

Three days ago, The Star carried an exclusive piece claiming Lo’s ex-wife had lodged 15 police reports against him since 2015 for allegedly molesting his own children.

Bukit Aman Sexual, Women and Child Investigations Division (D11) principal assistant director Asst Comm Choo Lily was reported saying that the police had conducted investigations into these reports but the cases were classified as no further action (NFA) due to lack of evidence.

“Some of these cases were classified as NFA by the DPP due to lack of evidence. Others were mainly police reports over custody of their children.  But if there is any new evidence or allegations, of course the case would be re-looked at,” she said.

Defending himself, Lo said that he would never do anything to harm his children and they meant the world to him.

He also said that his side of the story has been corroborated by agencies such as the police and Child Welfare Services.

“You may refer to Dr. Edward Chan, the President of the Malaysian Association of Psycotherapists, or Dr. Shieila at HKL, who evaluated the children, also Pn. Isnawati at JKM, PnShearil at JKM, and PDRM. These allegations have been investigated several times.

“Why did the Star leave all this out? Is this not an important and vital piece of ‘research’? What is the motive behind such obvious one-sided reporting? This is disgusting and deplorable and involves my children,” he said.

Lo also questioned the credentials of the counsellor hired by his ex-wife, saying that the counsellor, known as Nicholas Wong, is the author of a book titled ‘Our Present Day Universe Is like a Japanese Porn Star.’

“So, forgive me if I was somewhat reluctant to partake in whatever program my ex wished to explore with this person.

“In the end, I believe I was right to stay away from him as he later encouraged the filming of my children during the divorce. Heartbreaking to see my kids being told to speak up and made to feel guilty when they ‘vanished’ and couldn’t go to the beach with me.

“Once divorce proceedings began, suddenly Nicholas here became qualified and ‘Licensed’ to check for sexual abuse? Is he a Psychotherapist? Psychologist? Psychiatrist? I think The Star needs to clarify what ‘License’ this person has if he is looking at my children’s privates,” said Lo.

On the case where his daughter had complained of abdominal pain and nausea in September 2015, Lo said that his daughter had suffered from Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) and was not molested as claimed by his ex-wife.

It was said that University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) was reported to have alleged that the girl had been molested by ‘unknown person’ and had advised the mother to lodge a police report.

“I will be formally asking for this ‘evidence’ of UMMC ‘advising’ to lodge this report, and ‘Who’ exactly suspected this ‘molestation’ by an unknown person,” said Lo.

He then reminded The Star that the real matter at hand was that he had been denied access to his son by his ex-wife for more than seven months despite holding joint custody.

“Do not forget how this began in that this is about my missing son! Vital information you ignored and purposely omitted.

“Jack is 9 years old, and I have not seen or spoken to him or held him or played fortnight with him or laughed with him for over 7 months. His sisters miss him and we love him. I will not fail my kids,” he said.

Training his guns at The Star, Lo said he was livid at the daily’s diabolical and destructive reporting which had caused trauma on himself and his family.

He also said that the daily has no clue on what police report and human rights violations are and the news report had put his children under tremendous pressure on social media.

“Do you think everyone is stupid? Your editor, legal team, Directors of your board, your CEO, Shareholders and any affiliates and bloggers who propagate your absolute disgrace to the profession of Journalism will each answer according to the Laws of our country.

“I will dedicate my attention to change Journalism so that no one else will ever have to endure such horrifying attacks with intent to destroy innocent lives ever again.

“You should be arrested for your stupidity and risking the lives and tormenting us with your bullshit,” he said.

I thought long and hard about this. To my kids, I fear this will forever become one of my greatest regrets – to have…
