‘I was not contacted, not supporting Anwar’


Kuala Terengganu: Besut Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh has denied that he is one of the Barisan Nasional (BN) MPs who is alleged to have given support to PKR President, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the formation of a new government.

The FELDA chairman, who is also the former Terengganu Menteri Besar, stressed that he still remains in UMNO and supports the Perikatan Nasional (PN).

“I deny the allegation of a portal that put my name as one of the BN MPs who support Datuk Seri Anwar.

“I have never been contacted and have never made any decision in support of Datuk Seri Anwar,” he said in a statement.

Idris’ was among 19 UMNO MPs listed in a contagious message via the WhatsApp application, claiming that they supported Anwar to become prime minister.
