Dzulkefly: Two more coronavirus cases in M’sia, total now 14

PUCHONG: Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said that two new cases of the novel coronavirus cases has been confirmed in the country, making the total now at 14.

Dzulkefly said one of the case involve a Malaysian woman aged 40, who was in contact with her brother.

Her brother was the first coronavirus case confirmed in Malaysia. The siblings came into contact during the Chinese New Year celebration.

“The woman yesterday was confirmed infected with the novel coronavirus when we tested her family members.

“She is now receiving treatment in an isolation ward at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital, Alor Star and is in stable condition,” he said, at a press conference today.

The second case, Dzulkefly said, involves a Chinese tourist who arrived here with her mother and three friends on Jan 25.

“She and her group visited a few tourist destinations before she went to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for fever on Feb 1.

“They were ordered to be isolated for monitoring. Yesterday, she was tested positive with the novel coronavirus,” he added.

On related matter, Dzulkefly said that the Canadian girl who collapsed in KLCC yesterday [1]was not suffering from the novel coronavirus.

He added that the 17 year old girl has been discharged from Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
