Budget 2020: Government to introduce new schemes

Important things to watch out for in today’s Budget

The 2020 Budget will be tabled by Finance Minister YB Tuan Lim Guan Eng on Friday, October 11, 2019.

Initiatives to reduce the cost of living, more opportunities for living standards and assistance when disaster strikes are among the things people want in the 2020 Budget.

For the youth, the government is urged by the public to facilitate Malaysian Technical and Vocational Training (TVET) job opportunities, provide incentives for trainees and apprentices to build employment opportunities and improve skills and human development programs.

People hope that the government will increase the initiative to support the underprivileged.

The government needs to ensure balanced development for all states and provide equal opportunities for all regardless of race and religious beliefs to achieve the Vision of Joint Prosperity (WKB) 2030.

WKB should be guided by economic growth in order to generate prosperity to share.

Last year, the 2019 Budget allocated RM259.8 billion for operating expenditure and RM54.7 billion for development expenditure.

The presentation will be broadcast live via the Ministry of Finance’s official mass media and social media channels on its Facebook and Twitter pages.
