PUCHONG: Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof confirmed that the Dewan Rakyat session, scheduled for next week, has been postponed to May 18.
In a statement, Ariff also announced the Dewan Rakyat session for the whole year as follows:
1st sitting (May 18 until June 23)
The May 18 sitting will be graced by Yang diPertuan Agong at 10am.
No sitting will take place from May 26 to May 28 (Aidil Fitri celebration is from May 24 to 25 & Gawai celebration June 1 and 2) and Jun 8 (official birthday of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong)
2nd sitting (July 27 until August 27)
Presentation of 12th Malaysia Plan (RMK-12) on August 6.
No sitting on July 30 (Aidil Adha celebration) and August 19 and 20 (Awal Muharam)
3rd sitting (September 28 until Nov 26)
Presentation of Budget 2021by Finance Minister on Oct 2 (4pm)
No sitting on Oct 29 (Maulidur Rasul)
Ariff said he had received the notice from the Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin that the government had decided on the new schedule of the Dewan Rakyat sitting.
“As Speaker, I found the dates of the sittings are in line with Standing Order 11 (2).
“Therefore, Dewan Rakyat secretary Riduan Rahmat will issue a notice to all MPs in regards to the new schedule,” he said.
