CHONBURI: Malaysia continued their winning ways by defeating Cambodia 2-0 in their second Group B match of the 2019 AFF Under 15 (U-15) Football Championship at the IPE Stadium yesterday.
In yesterday’s match, Malaysia’s goals were netted by Muhammad Izrin Ibrahim in the 63rd minute and Muhammad Aliff Izwan Yuslan in the 66th minute, according to the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) Facebook page.
Speaking to the media afterwards, National U-15 squad head coach, P. Maniam said he was satisfied with the performance of his boys but was disappointed that his charges squandered many goal scoring opportunities in the match.
“Nevertheless, we must improve our defending and also the attacking department,”he said.
On the next match against Australia, Maniam said their opponents are physically strong, but is confident that the players are up to the task to continue their winning streak in the tournament
For the record, Malaysia hammered Brunei 8-0 in their Group B opener last Sunday.
Other group B results saw Australia thrash Laos 3-0 while hosts Thailand whipped Brunei 7-1.
