A new polio case detected in Sabah

PUCHONG: A three-year old foreigner in Sandakan, Sabah has been confirmed infected with polio.

Health Ministry secretary general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the boy was confirmed infected with polio after test by World Health Organization (WHO) in Australia turned out to be positive on March 5.

“Until March 8, the cumulative confirmed polio cases found in Sabah are now stands at four,” he said in a statement today.

Hisham said the boy is now receiving treatment in a hospital and in a stable condition.

“He never received polio vaccine before,” he said.
