4,821 special needs children enrolled in school this year

PUCHONG: Zero Reject Policy implemented by the Education Ministry saw 4,821 special needs children enrolled in school this year.

In a Facebook post yesterday, the ministry said the policy which was implemented early this year had shown increased registration of these children in schools.

“The policy clearly has an impact and positive effect towards special needs children to get their education.

“The ministry will intensify its efforts and initiatives to make education available to the special needs group,” it said.

Furthermore, it said, around 840 schools all over the country have the facilities to accommodate these children.
