2019 SPM results show better performance with GPN of 4.86

PUTRAJAYA: The 2019 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia results show a better performance with a National Average Grade (GPN) of 4.86 compared to 4.89 recorded in 2018.

Education director-general Dr Habibah Abdul Rahim said a total of 8,876 or 2.28% of the candidates obtained grade A+, A, and A- in all subjects in 2019 compared to 8,436 or 2.15% in the previous year.

The percentage of candidates who are eligible to be awarded the SPM certificate also increased by 0.33%, where 86.72% (337,773) candidates who sat for the examination last year are eligible to receive the certificate, from 86.39% (338,350 candidates) in 2018, she said.

“The number of candidates who obtained at least five credits including Bahasa Melayu and a pass for History is 246,645,” she said when announcing the 2019 SPM result analysis at the Education Ministry today.
