JOHOR BAHRU: A total of 1,046 officers and men in Johor will be on Ops Selamat duty in conjunction with Hari Raya.
Johor police chief Datuk Mohd Khalil Kader Mohd, in a statement here today, said the Ops will take place from May 29 to June 12.
Throughout the period, the whole community is advised to safeguard their own safety and property.
“To those returning home, be careful when driving and inform your neighbours, nearby police stations or utilise the Volunteer Smartphone (VSP) app,” he said.
Stern action would also be taken against drivers who do not comply with traffic regulations or put others in danger as well as individuals who threaten the safety of the community.
He added that ahead of the Ops, a total of 373 raids and inspections have also been carried out throughout the various districts to curb crimes such as housebreakings and snatch thefts.
As a result, 211 drug addicts and those involved in crimes have been arrested, he said.
